Well, excited and scared.

It’s that time again. That time when I get all judgmental and can’t believe that (hopefully less than) half of this country wants to see social policy go back fifty years, vote away the rights of minorities and women, and elect a guy who has said out loud and on camera that 47% of us don’t take personal responsibility: “I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.”

And don’t even get me started on the lies that the Vote Yes campaign has been propagating. (For those of you not in Minnesota: there is a proposed amendment to the state constitution that would definite marriage as a union between one man and one woman. If it passes, there will be one more hurdle to overcome before gay marriage is legal– which it will be, eventually.) To get people to vote for this amendment, they are saying “your kids will be taught gay marriage in schools,” which is not true, in addition to it being really weird, I mean does “straight marriage” get taught in schools? And they say that the whole fabric of society will unravel. Your (straight) marriage won’t mean anything anymore, and God will be really upset with us. Things get pretty disgusting around election time. You know what? I think God will be (is) really upset with us for being so shitty to each other.

So in order to formally state the obvious:

That is all.

*The second amendment on the ballot is a voter ID law that would make it difficult for many people to vote, and would be very costly to the state. You can read more here.
