Under the Sea

In conference on Sunday, Sharath talked about how you cannot appreciate the beauty of the sea just by looking at it; you have to go in it. And that the Ashtanga yoga method is like that. Until you develop a regular practice, you can’t understand what it is– you look at it and just see gymnastics.

This morning, I came across a Rumi quote:

You’ve been walking the ocean’s edge, holding up your robes to keep them dry.
You must dive naked under, and deeper under, a thousand times deeper!

Connections are there.

(quote was on the Wee Yogi blog, linked by Jill)
